Default Voodoo HP MBC installed last night by RSForm followed by 60 minutes of tweaking...impressions:

Thanks to Cable for his help. Here are some impressions after 60 or so minutes of spirited tuning and a 30 minute drive home:

1. Turbo spool is almost instantaneous. They kick in at around 2500 rpm. And they do kick in.

2. I've now got and 18 psi spike with a 16 psi taper. Exctly what I wanted.

3. On one occasion, my clutch took some serious punishment.
Me: "What was that? Were my tires slipping?"

Cable: "No, that was your clutch. I added some torque."

Me: "Umm, I'm going to need that to last a little while."

Cable: "OK, I'll turn it down a little."

Through VAG and Lemmi (not sure exactly what was done since I was only driving and Cable had the laptop) but it is a different car.

Default That is the one. (more...)

The guys selling these (JP) is a straight shooter.

Answered all questions promptly and got the part to me in 2 days (I'm on the West coast).

I got the ceramic ball that supposedly makes boosting quicker.

Default I had the same question. Maybe he adjusted something that in turn added elements that could

lead to more torque.

I think my question was (jokingly)"Is that a setting of the software?" or something. He replied with an answer I don't remember. I'm not technical in the jargon of Lemmi. That, and the fact that it was dark out and we were bombing down unfamiliar (to me) roads I wasn't paying too much attention to our conversation.

You'd know more about the technical aspects than I would. The point is I was surprised at the sudden low end force.

Whatever he did, that one pull (where the clutch got strained) was unlike anything I've ever felt in my rig. It felt a bit unnatural.

I'm sure when I get a tougher clutch, I'll be revisiting the issue.
