Default Want to drive to tahoe on torn Control arm bushings, bad idea or horrible idea?

Situation: It is dumping snow in Tahoe and I want a piece of the action this weekend.

Setback: I have torn bushings on all four front upper control arms and I don't have time to fix them before the weekend.

Question: Do you think it would be a big issue to drive to Tahoe from San Jose CA (roughly 4 hours) on the torn bushings? What are the worst case scenarios?

Default go for it but replace them ASAP afterwards..

I've did a 2k mile trip pulling a trailer on bad control arms, and it survived. of course there's always a risk though..

Ha, I bought the same kit but don't have the time to do it before the snow comes.

Hm, I only get creaking when going over speed bumps. The typical sound i hear is a squeaking while im rolling along at lower speeds. Do you think that it is definitely the Control arms? Is there any way to tell how bad of shape they are in?

Default You sound in better shape than myself...ive got all kinds of creaks and groans

rolling at slower speeds for sure and more when bumps involved. I would say its control arm related. If you jack up the car and grab the arms one at a time and start trying to move things around you can usual tell by how much play you have. I think you'll be fine. just take it easy.
