Warming up of temp (turbo's) and around town driving, A Question....
If you drive the car for say 15-20 min. and just get the temp up to near usual high without having stepped on the turbo's because you're waiting for proper temp., traffic ect., then stop and don't drive for another say 10-15 min. and you get back in and are going to drive some more and the temp. is at say 175, do you still drive the car through a warm up period, or because it is at a temp you can step on it do you just drive as if you've already allowed the temp. to heat up. My gut tells me to go through another "warm up period" but is that necessary? how do you drive in this running around town type of situation? Also what about the proper cooling down of the turbo's? Is driving around and the turbo's not being allowed the proper cool down a problem?

As long as the oil temp gauge has budged, I don't hold back
I don't think there's a lot of difference in the lubricating ability of the oil between 150 and my normal operating temp of 200. If the oil is warm, it should be fine, and no second warm up period is needed.
As for cool down, that's also important and either get a turbo timer or chill out for the last couple of minutes of your drive.

There is oil pressure at start up, multigrade oil in the lines, and no operating procedure from the
manufacturer regarding warm up; Where is the problem? Personally, my environmental ambient temp is 70-90 F year round and I highly doubt waiting for warmer oil is going to prevent turbo failure. Perhaps if your ambiant temp is outside of the oil viscosity index there could be a problem. I don't think synthetic cokes either, FWIW.
