Aprox 2 1/2 years on. Doesn't matter to me much cause the whole front end will get repainted anyway due to a front end wreck which I'm using as an excuse to mount an RS4 front bumper. Just thought I'd warn all you good people who already have it installed or are thinking about it. I don't know what's up with Stonegard or those other brands. I think they all use the same 3m material but it's the adhesive they use that's the real issue.

I can even keep peeling the clear coat off. I think whatever was in the adhesive that damaged the clear coat leached out at least a half inch or so

I don't believe anything that I did while removing it should have been enough to peel off the clear coat.

I have Xpels on my e-codes and fogs. I am planning to put the StonGard on my front cover once the paint cures in about a month to 6-weeks.
Otherwise, I've been told the gas that is being released from the paint will lift the StonGard off and cause it to bubble.

. . . probably would've been a good idea - but it didn't take much force to remove the the clear bra. The clear coat was definitely already deteriorated and brittle.
