Default Warning: StopTechs as spacers, and Flik Wheels (bad match)

I just want to warn people out there running StopTechs and Flik wheels. By installing StopTech brakes you are pushing the wheel out by about 2 to 3 mm. This is not noticeable, and does not require new bolts. Though if you were a perfectionist, going to 30mm bolts would be a good idea.

I just installed Flik wheels, and the bolts provided are about 1 to 2 mm shorter than factory. Which again, should not be a problem by itself.

I bet you know where I am going... the sum of these two creates a bolt that is 4 to 5 mm shorter than factory. With Flik having a small offset the force on bolts is increased. After 8 sessions at Lime Rock my Flik bolts almost felt apart where they attach to the hub. I will need a new hub and of course longer bolts... going to studs.

If you are running StopTechs and ER Flik wheels, invest in longer bolts. 14x1.5x35mm or 14x1.5x32mm should work perfectly, though I am yet to test that. If you can recommend a maximum length that still works well for you - please let me know.

Default I don't recommend Stoptechs with spacers either

I have Stoptechs, 8mm H&R spacers, and my S8 wheels all sandwiched by 35mm bolts. They only get 5 turns, which is less than I would like, and my rotors creak when I brake. It's the two-piece setup moving around, the tension from the spacers doesn't help...

Default Do the Fliks work w/ Stock brakes?

I was looking at a set for the track. Don't want to make a mistake...

I have no spacers... StopTechs are also small spacers.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about the Flik rims for my race setup.
