Warren Wang, what kind of gas do you use...

Warren ****, what kind of gas do you use...
So many people indicate that they have lose power and can only restore it by resetting the throttle adaptation or whatever it is that clears the ECUs adapted ceiling on ignition advance.
You reported that you had some initial roughness that you corrected through a proper throttle adaptation, and that you had no loss of power, and still don't.
Could it be that the fuel that you are using has a higher octane rating than the fuel that most people are using?
How else do you explain the fact that so many people seem to have this problem (beyond TBB replacement) and that you don't seem to have it?
Thanks,
Tom

...Tonight on Dateline! ;-)
Sorry, actually I did see an ad on this topic, was it Dateline, 20/20 or local, can't remember. Also was saying how they rigged the pumps to read and charge more than what you are getting.
I'm a Texaco devotee. Nothing else.

ATTN Leslie, why Texaco
Leslie,
Why Texaco? Is it just personal preference or have you had some experience that taught (sp?) it was the best in Oregon.

'00 S4, Santorin/Onyx (hopefully in the next couple of weeks)
P.S.
Sorry I couldn't make the shifter party. Hopefully next time you guys get together I can make it up to PDX.

Mostly Texaco and Mobil
I wasn't the one that had to have my throttle body recalibrated. I drove down to APR in February and had the ECU done there and Brett also recalibrated my ECU and reset the "loss of power" DTC.

Additives
I believe they use the highest quality additives among all the major companies. I've never had a bad experience with them, and most of their stations are pretty well run around here, IMO. Not saying others are bad, I just trust them. Also, thought it would be nice to say, have never filled w/ any other brand in my S4 (I did cheat once, couldn't find one out by PIR, drove around for half an hour looking--that's why I was late, oops). Also, if I ever suspected bad gas, I'd know where to go.
YMMV,
