Washer pump wiring question

Washer pump wiring question
Not sure if the recent fog light mod has anything to do with this. My windshield washer pump isn't getting power..traced the wires. My headlight washer pump gets power whether or not my headlights are on. If I don't mind loosing the headlight washers, can I just cut the line to the headlight washers and put them to the windshield washers? The guage of the wires seems different...windshield being thicker.
