Hey,
I've been having overboost for a while now. I checked the line to the passenger side actuator and it's leaking. I changed out the line and it still leaks so there is a hole in the wastegate actuator. Is there any way to replace just the wastegate actuator without removing the entire engine? It would be such a pain to have drop the engine just for that...

What engine? (Hint: Fill in your profile so your car and location shows on the left there).
If it's the 1.8T I replaced mine on the Passat I have with that engine (AEB engine code) take off turbo, take off three bolts IIRC, that's it. I think I paid $179 from ECS. Dealer wanted to replace entire turbo (claimed the WG was integral w/the turbo) for $3K![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

OP I can't help you with this one, I've done some adjusting of the WG's and it was a pain, I think trying to swap WG's with the motor in place would be pretty hard, especially the passenger side.

Yes you're right I got a 2.7t allroad. They should've made it a bit easier to get to. Engine is strong as hell but turbos will wear out after 190k miles. I think the rust just got to the actuator because I go offroad a lot of times including rivers. You can get to the actuator by taking some parts off the car but to actually unscrew the wastegate, I'm not sure. I don't really have a good picture of where exactly it's bolted to.
In this case I actually wish I had my 1.8t passat wagon back lol. Was 10x easier!

Here's some pictures of where it's at:

But it is really tucked up in there.
<img src="http://www.myaudis4.com/frankenturbo/install/Contact1.jpg">
Maybe coming at it from below, after taking the turbo inlet pipe off.
<img src="http://www.myaudis4.com/frankenturbo/install/Inlet_2.jpg">
With the exhaust manifold above, the motor mount bracket in front, the compressor outlet below, and the starter on the motor side it is in a very tight spot. In order to pull it off in place you'd have to loosen the WG actuator arm and probably have to pull the WG canister forward, I don't know if there's room to do that on the car. I'm thinking that the turbo may need to come off.

Thank you so much for the images it really helps me. Somehow all pictures taken from this engine is either from the front or driver's side. I think I'd be able to get the screws loose, problem would be whether the actuator actually fits through.
