Default Water leak

I got home yesterday after taking the car for a spirited spin. When I looked down at the passenger side carpet it was soaked.

Looking under the dash I could see a drip of water coming from above the bottom panel. I reached in as far as I could (way in the corner next to the transmission arch) and felt a soaking wet sponge. This is a grey colored sponge wrapped around a pipe coming through the firewall.

I thought that perhaps the heating system had sprung a leak. If not, then perhaps the air-con system. There were no real smells, it was just wet, about 1/2 pint of water or so.

Today I had the car checked out. There pressure tested all the systems and they tested ok. All the fluid levels were correct as well. It was not raining at the time. I felt the pipe again today, it felt pretty cold. The water was not hot yesterday either. Could it have been condensation that collected over time?

Does anyone have any ideas where the water could have come from? Can water outside the car work its way in?

Default If it was the heater core, you'd know it..

Because it'll smell like coolant. It was probably condensation.. but 1/2 is a lot.
