the chain was nice and tight between te two cams. The other however is much looser. I measured the amount the plunger is out on both (on the top only) and they are the same.
I would suppose that they are held up by oil pressure but would a loose chain be a tell tail sign of a bad tensioner?
The motor has been sitting for a little over a week. I had no seing maching noise prior to removal.

I discovered the same thing when I did mine. You are looking at the tight side of one chain and the slack side of the other. The pic explains it better than I can in words!
