Well, I haven't "officially" gone over to the Dark Side.........Yet.........
But for the last couple of days, I have been "testing" an APR v5 M-box in my car and have a few questions. Yes, I have done the STFA thing, but would still like some newer feedback:
-How long/many miles does it take to really adapt? I am getting a little bit of pre-detination.
-I ran a block 003 VAG, and I saw over 40 degrees of timing. Isn't that just a BIT much?
-Do the guys with APR run stock or chipped most of the time?
-Has anyone done any 0-60 runs with a Stage II APR v5 M-box?
-The exhaust note seems to have gotten a bit more aggressive with the chip in. Anyone else notice that?
-Boost seems to be running about right for APR, 17psi spike, then settles back down to 15psi.
Car feels strong....Gotta love it!!
Now I just have to decide if I am going to keep it in, or not, and if it is worth frying the K03's for!!

FWIW...
I ran APR v3.3 and v5.0 for more than 25,000 miles. I ran the 91 code about 75% of the time, and 93 code about 20% of the time. The rest was the occassional 100 octane treat. We just pulled my K03s to do Stage III, and my turbos look absolutely fine.

You naughty boy ;-P Sounds nice. IMO, I can't imagine that well maintained K-03's are doomed.
I have to believe that a lot of the fried ones were due to hard running when cold, no cool-down when hot, and crappy dealer "whatever happens to be in the 55 gal drum today" oil changes.
I would think that the extra hp is quite addictive, eh?
