Well as most of you know, I waited 6 weeks to get my car back. Guess what happened yesterday?...

It all started with my brother and I going to play tennis sunday afternoon. We get to our usual courts and I find a parking spot. We sit down on the bench waiting for a court to open. Five minutes passes and everyone heres a decent 'thunk'. Everyone starts laughing at this big dodge ram truck that backed straight into a car. Everyone other then me, that is, yep straight into my S4. This little girl who probably just got her license hops out the car. She says 'I didn't see your car'. My response 'Well, you see it now'. She calls her parents to come by and they asked for an explanation. I told them what just happened. They don't want to go through insurance, to me it doesn't matter either way. I'll be getting a quote on the fix and I'm sure they won't like the bill. My trunk needs replacement, my rear bumper needs replacement, as well as the inner frame just behind the rear bumper. Any estimates on that?

my fiancée got rear-ended by a big truck one night and it didnt look bad, so she didnt call the cops. The guy said he'd pay, and gave her his work phone number, but never paid.
Most of the bumper had to be completely sanded, filled (maybe) and repainted.

mom didn't want to take it to the insurance company's "preferred body shop", rather a good local shop she knew had the expertise to fix it right.
parents kept calling and suggesting shops... at the end of the day my mom just ended up going through her insurance company because they didn't want to foot the bill at the shop we felt most comfortable with
good luck- keep good records and be persistent
