Default went to go run the VAST 2.7GT car at the dragstrip today...

first off, even though we weren't allowed to run anything that was 1/4mile long after the first shakedown pass, I do want to thank Kurt for staying up with me 2 weeks ago to iron out the tuning after waiting 2.5 years for good tuning. Thank you so much! You've worked wonders on this car, you always had, even when it was in on k03's and k04's when you ran it in the past. Thanks to Prince and Verruckt and my dad and Jen for all your support and coming out to the track JUST for this car and making sure we at least tried to get a number. Thanks to JD/Piggiesmalls in every other way too! You guys have been the greatest support through all the problems I've gone through this year and we're ending this season on a good note

so, here's a breakdown of the car:

2001.5 S4, 6 speed, FULL INTERIOR/no spare tire/total streetable/daily driver car
-full exhaust, dual 2.5" collecting to 3.5" single
-2 mufflers, no catalytics
-STOCK shortblock, RS4 heads, RS4 intake mani, VAST phenolic spacers, RS4 intake cams, RS4 throttle body/up-piping
-RS4 intercoolers
-40deg F outside
-no air conditioning compressor/condenser
-electric fan kit
-VAST 2.7GT tubular headers to GT2860R's
-stasis 4:1 diff
-17" OZ SL's, 235/40/17 Goodyear F1 GSD3, 38psi
-lightweight flywheel/6 puck iron clutch
-koni-intrax shock/spring combo
-VAST tuning, 8k rpm rev limit, ~24 deg. timing
-90mm maf, 60# injectors, 3 bar fpr, 104 octane
-25psi peak, 23psi upstairs

I thought I could just make a shakedown pass without launching the car and not get in trouble for a low ET, but they still told me I couldn't do a full 1/4mile pass after running the time below:
here's the first run, I didn't even launch it, just left off the line at idle, I didn't think I'd get in trouble for the high mph, but I did. After that, I was only allowed to run 1/8mile passes after it I should have just went all out and tried for that 10 second run

<img src="http://www.vastperformance.com/images/VAST_2.7GT_test_run_NO_LAUNCH.JPG">

then, they made me do only 1/8 mile runs, this was probably the best. I stopped accelerating after about 110mph in 3rd gear and then cruised to the end and still ran a mid 11. crazy. This thing has 10's written all over it and I have to wait til next year to do it. FYI, my best mph was 134mph, but they wouldn't display it because they didn't want me running so fast, just like this slip below, they'd give me a partial slip. We honestly had to beg to get some of these timeslips from the booth.

Very nice : ) Do they have a speed restriction, or is it because you don't have a cage?

Default Why, just because you trapped 131?

They should have let you run till you ran below 11.5 since you most likely dont have a roll bar and you would need to hit 135 mph to need a roll bar.

7.7 wont get you into the 10's since your not making enough power to run 3.3 on the top end. Get the 1/8th down to low 7's and that should get you into the 10's.

Nice runs.

Good job piggie. I agree, I think you'll be close to 10s, if not already in the 10s (high tens). What do they say?... 1.4 x your 1/8? Some people say 1.5 x your 1/8.
1.5 x 7.757 = 11.636
1.4 x 7.757 = 10.860

How much does your car weigh?
