Default went through a puddle and the car died

so i was drivin home from orange city tonight with my buddy dan, and it started pouring rain...so i was going fairly slow cause there was puddles everywhere. and i was driving along and then about 2 miles from my school there was another puddle and i went toward the outside of it in 3rd gear doin like 25/30 mph and all of the sudden the car started to bog down, so i pushed the clutch in to downshift and it just shut off...so i start rolling to a stop and i tried to crank it again and i got it to rev up to like 1200 rpms while i was pumpin the gas pedal and then i let off and it died. after that, it wouldn't even turn over...when i try to start it, it just goes, "click"...one, single click. then nothing. ANYBODY??? help? please...I took off the airbox/MAF and pulled the filter out..the filter was damp and the MAF had a little bit of water on it, but the rest of the system (as far as i could stick my hand in) seemed fairly dry minus a couple spots that one would only think as enough water to show condensation. I let the MAF and filter dry out and then put it back in and it still did nothing. Ideas? Hypotheses?

It's not hydro-locked if it'll turn over. It did before the battery died, so that's not it.

Default I have "darintake" design, but heard no mechanical noises or any out-of-ordinary sounds

The car continued to slow down while in gear, the wheels never locked up.

I've seen this happen once before but it was due to an ECU getting wet and frying
