Default what am I doing wrong...

I was trying to program one of my keys.

So this is what I did:
1. put working key in ignition and clicked to on.
2. Closed the door stuck the non-working key into the trunk (I have no driver side key hole).
3. I turned the key and locked all the doors.
4. pressed the unlock button on the remote, once (also tried 2-5 times and tried holding it down)
5. the lights blinked (however many times I hit the button, up to 5)
6. I then turned the key and unlock the doors, then turned to lock the doors.
7. removed key from trunk and pressed unlock, nothing happened, also tried holding down the unlock button...nothing.
(found that if I pressed the unlock button more than once, in step 4, I could get the lights to flash that same amount in step 7...but without the doors unlocking.

Is there a problem with the locking module? or is it me?

ok...after you press the unlock button in step 4, the lites blink however many times you press the button wait @ 9 seconds with the doors locked, and press and hold the unlock button on the remote and it will unlock. That remote is programmed. Just repeat for the second one. Just press the unlock button a different # of times in step 4.

Default dosent matter what key is in ignition

just take the remote off your key so you can do both at the same time with the key on
