What did APR change in the stg3 software to get their recent HP gains? I thought the

Subpar? I disagree. I have driven all the codes out there and v5.0 it ON par.
I've driven GIAC/AMS/APR/MTM/TAP and even Upsolute. APR is about as smooth as you can get on 91 oct. I think in the quest for maximum power, some AW people get all wrapped up in datalogging ECUs and don't really have a true sense of the big picture. They are staring at the tree and miss the forest. Having been involved in tuning the S4 over the last five years, it's my opinion that APR's v5.0 code is certainly one of the best all around 91 oct codes available. AMS is very good as well on 91 oct.

Smooth vs powerful are different things. APR still lacks timing on 91 octane in the 5.0 flavor
Anything else would be a misrepresentation.
I've driven, hell I've owned all of them and spent many hours trying to help APR.
V5.0 on 91 octane may be smooth but it's gutless and the reason is because they based their tuning on a mix of what they THought would be comparable to CA 91 octane gas. Guess what it wasn't and that's why they bought some large quantity of real CA 91 octane to do the tuning for their stage 3. And guess what, night and day improvement. They have yet gone back to add some power into the stage 1 and stage 2 code. Period end of discussion.
Yes APR is smoother then GIAC, but v5.0 on 91 octane is weaker then them all and guess what, AMS gives you drivability and heck so does MTM.
APR should not be off the hook, just because after 2+ years they have a comparable (if not better) stage 3 offering then most. they should not be happy until all their code offerings are updated with this new found intel.

I'm certainly not complaining about the 93 code anyway....it's pretty decent. MTM is the only other
program that I've driven, though, & it was strong.
