Default When the pitch of your car changes (ie. going up or down a hill), they are supposed to compensate

for that by raising or lowering the headlights.

Default A sensor on each front and rear left A-arm controls the motors. They respond to squat or dive

situations where the senors see that one axle is higher or lower than the other. You'll know it when one of these sensors goes bad because your lights will point at the ground.

Default thanks! See post below...

is that the same as a "rough road sensor"?

Default true but I disagree with that example

because you can be going up/dn hill with the front and rear suspension at the same height.

A better example would be the headlights leveling themselves when the rear of the car sags.. after a few bodies are thrown in the trunk.

I'm not trying to argue, but I don't think there is a sensor in the front.

There is - "Headlight range control adjustment sensor + linkage." on the d-side front LCA.

Default Re: There is - "Headlight range control adjustment sensor + linkage." on the d-side front LCA.

Anyone knows the part# for this? Is it easy to install? I wanna change lights on 01-S4 from regular lights to Xenon (in Canada we didn't get Xenon) and wanna add the auto-leveling , as it made a big diff in my 02 A4.

So, is it a straight forward, plug and play upgrade if I got the xenon headlights, and balast?

Thnx
