Default What to do: radiator hose blew off tonite, pink fluid all over the engine compartment...from a shift

from 6th to 5th...

Oil temp gauge is way high, close to 350, and the engine temp is all the way to H.

Is this just due to the hose blowing off the radiator, or is there something more wrong with the situation. Could I take this to Steve Taub in the morning to replace the clamp that broke, and refill the radiator fluid?

Other than that, the car's great

Your oil temp is at 350? Yikes, no coolant in the engine will probably do that, among other things.

Default Zoltan is right... don't drive it, and pray you didn't damage it already...

Get it flatbedded.

Howdy! Oil temperatures way too high, coolant temps way too high, installation of many new engine parts, add all that together and you've got something to be very worried about! The coolant hose blew off due to excessive pressure in the system due to the high temperatures most likely, surprised you didn't see the cap blowing steam before the hose blew off. Do not drive the car, flatbed to shop that did the engine work!

Very Best of Luck!

Default They didn't do any machine work to the motor did they?

I blew the bottom tank off my radiator because I was getting back pressure through the waterjacket.
I hope it was just heat in your case.

Default how long were you driving with the hose off?

if you can't fix the hose and replace coolant yourself - have it flatbedded to the shop.

Driving without coolant is probably the quickest way to spin a crank bearing or sieze a piston or... you get the idea...

Make sure to change engine oil/filter as well. Do you run synthetic?

I thought the whole reason to take it to AMS is to get it done right the first time.
