I'm thinking of going for a nice all purpose workbench to attack a couple of automotive projects and would appreciate any input. As far as a rollaway goes, I'm seriously thinking of getting a Craftsmen with ballbearing drawers.

i have a craftsman rollaway (along with 2 chests on top) with ball bearing drawers, very nice stuff, i recommend it....

as for a workbench, one of the previous owners made one from wood, it works just fine....

Default i've been shopping for one too. i was *not* impressed with any of the craftsman ...

models, professional or otherwise. specifically, the latching mechanisms all felt cheap, and the drawers are made from way too thin a gauge of steel and visibly rattle from side to side (ball bearings or not).

i haven't decided on my favorite yet, but the lista and snap-on both look nice, and "shark stainless" makes some nice looking cabinets, though they're a new guy on the block.

Default Sears is the best for the money unless you wanna pay $$$$

Then go with a professional grade rollaway from snap on, mac or matco tools.

Default sears...

craftsman are the best. Unless you have some money you want to toss around then you should buy a Snap-on chest.
Just get a Craftsman one that fits your area and hold all your stuff. They are fine.

Default If you go with Craftsman... look for a Sears service center in your area...

I picked up my roller bearing top and bottom for the price of the bottom in the local Sears store. Service centers discount over stocked or slightly damaged items.

Default Your looking too hard, unless you are a mechanic. The ball bearing Sears stuff is plenty fine for

home use IMO.

Default sorry, i think it's junk

there are products that are so much better for just a little more money -- just compare with similar snap-on chests!

btw, it's "you're" -- but more importantly, i'm not looking too hard, i just don't believe in second-rate crap.
