Default I'll say it again, manifold lenght is not that important in that case. Rinlord's car is about the

same but he used the KTR type behind passenger headlight...

Default Manifold lenght means nothing? it means everything especially on a 2.7

When selecting large turbos.....

1)From Garrett site "For better boost response, minimize the exhaust volume between the exhaust ports and the turbine inlet" (This setup I bet has 400+% more volume over the twin setups)

2)From Burns Site "Larger diameter tubes allow the gases to expand; this cools the gases, slowing down both the gases and the waves, (IE hurting spool and performance, In return making power real peaky)

Exhaust system design is a balancing act between all of these complex events and their timing. Even with the best compromise of exhaust pipe diameter and length, the collector outlet sizing can make or break the best design.

Just a few examples from hundreds on how exhaust gases slowing down from large/long runners can & will hurt performance overall.. For the track maybe it's fine "having a slow spooling, peaky monster" but on the street probably not so fun. This is in reference to the single shown in the pic above, it's really the only one I've seen..

Default Theres more to it then just spool, peaky or broad will be the question...

Like i said "it comes down to what you want and what your willing to sacrifice to get it"

Default Right, the most boring car ever to drive on the street unless the car has the 35R or smaller then

Decent/ok going much larger creates a very BORING drive on the street, but still not as nice as a pair of after-market twins, the power is much broader. It all comes down to what you won't from the car and what your willing to sacrifice.

Default What? lol... we are talking strictly power. It is proven that their single setups make monster power

Even if they went with a single 35r, it is going to make loads more power than stock twins.

Stop being biter every time you hear about a single setup that will blow away yours.

Default Boring meaning 20 seconds before power comes I never mentioned stock twins I said AFTERMARKET TWINS!

and street practicality ie broad power band not just peak power IE GT42R etc with hours of lag, yes thats boring on the street. Everyone realizes anyone can just slap a large turbo on any car and make large PEAK numbers, thats common knowledge i thought. It's funny how defensive your getting when this has nothing to do with you. Read what I wrote to the question "what do you think about this setup" which isn't yours or dowerks or whatever you call it. I can careless about yours or who's ever backyard piece together setup you have or will have. Anyone can build any car for just peak numbers WOW thats hard. My comments stand on large TWIN SETUPS the same as large singles, I tell people the exact same thing single, twin doesn't matter..
I won't even comment about your baseless comment pertaining me.

Default It is already proven that a 35r outspools twin 28's on the S4 and will also make low 500whp on pump

gas. So what is your point? I have chosen to go with something that flows more than a 40r. Yes, I sacrifice a little bit more lag for peak power, but I also have headwork to support a taller redline.

Your argument about lag is moot, as 28's still lag. Last time I checked, my purpose was for drag applications, not auto-x. Same with Supras that opt to go with single conversions.

You are very good at exaggerating too. 15 feet of piping, hours of lag.
