What has everyone paid for timing belt and water pumps? Labor included!!
#13
I got jobbed at about $1300. Mechanics out here are about $85+ per hour...
And I've decided that there is no way I'm going there again.
It pisses me off everytime I think about it.
I think about $350 of that total was parts.
Then I got to pay shop supplies and tax and all that crap.
I'm pissed now, again.

This is what it "SHOULD" have been...
Timing kit from ECS (two belts, water pump, thermo, 2 rollers) = $250
APR snub = $50
2 jugs of coolant = $28
6 hours labor for timing belt + 1 hour for the rest of the parts at $75/hour = $525
Total with shipping on parts = $875
Now for the Scooby Doo ending...
Initial install also required oil change ($70) and 710n diverter valve ($30, I cracked it when installing it so needed a new one). Total spent after that day was $1021. Had to take it back the following Monday (2/13/06) because the timing belt was rubbing. Faulty Tensioner from ECS. $400 more in labor + $100 new part from local dealer brings the grand total to almost $1600
