Stock S4 sound is horrific
Even my 2000 Maxima had a better sound system.
I ripped everything out of the S4 and have JL Audio XR's all around, with 2 12" 12W6v2's in the trunk... sounds incredible, especially with the digital time correction on my Alpine CDA-7998

I have had 3 different cars and YES my ears are spoiled and willing to find better speakers every year. I can't put $30k mark levinson speakers in the car but I am looking for better speakers than the Bose in S4. It sounds good but trust me there are speakers better than the Bose in my S4. The Bose in Benz sound so much wamer than the one in Audi. I know and all my friends realized and experienced. Also I had MB Quarts for a year in my last car(Integra GSR)and it is great speakers. However not my favorite type. Maybe you should check out a local dealer to hear difference between MB Quart and Boston and maybe infinity speakers.... Im very serious about this cuz Im about to spend alot of money okay?

MB Q's are right up there with Bose...
Very good marketing, but with much better parts content than Bose. Problem is, the end result is anything but good sound reproduction in 99% of their product line. Their speakers sound like someone cranked up the treble on the sound system. Midrange is flat compared to any reference quality speaker. Course my MB Q knowledge is about 5 years out of date...maybe they fixed them...but somehow I doubt it.

i took the BS part out...i'm all stressed from taking finals....30,000 for the mark levinson?
thats out of control...I have a 997 C2 that has bose...amazing...I used to drive a IS300 that had a mark levinson system...they didn't really get that loud?
i think that stock bose in my RS 6 is great too...i must be easily pleased

You are quiet right RKA... I used to love MB Q when I had no knowledge of speakers. It was the all junk advertisements that confused the hell outta me. Going extremely high isnt always good for my ears... I am looking for a good mid range and pretty smooth high tone component systems. And I thought of Boston cuz I just heard them from Myer Amco... hehe
