So if I go for a home brew or ASP stage 3 fueling kit I could retain my GIAC X and it'd work great?

Default not IMO - a K03 chip is a K03 chip. sure each have different characteristics...

..but theyre all slow. save the money youd spend and put it towards bigger turbos

Default GIAC has been doing chips for the B5 S4 since 2000. Which version did you run? Most of the newer

file are smoother as that is what customer input has indicated as favorable.

I'm sure if any of the new S4 tuners had been doing these chips since the beginning their "style" would have been adjusted along the way. Or if GIAC had come in 5-6 years later..., they would have the benefit of the others feedback.

Edit for spelling and punctuation.

Default Hey Jeff

Does GIAC have any programs that work well with RS6/K04's? I am considering going in that direction, but need to know if there are *any* gains over pj.

Default I have done a few Hybrids tunes. IMO on a 91 oct k04ish (stock CR) tune you really can't

run much more than 1.35-1.4 bar at peak torque and 1.45ish bar at peak hp. Not any tangible gains that I have seen on pump and arguable on better fuels.

On race gas I have run over 26 lbs on PJ's and have not broken one yet. Altitude (2800 ft and 85 degrees) and temp corrected (SAE) MPH was 127-128 in a 3650 lb car. Have never seen ANY other K04 cars trap that high at that weight.

Feel free to call, or if any hybrid cars (no liquid O2...) want to race send em down.

Default Even so, is it worth buying software you already have?

If I were to do it again, I would have stuck with my APR software until stg 3 time.

Wasted my money on Revo and GIAC instead of picking up injectors.

I broke even on the deal. If I hadn't I would not have sold the GIAC.
