I am getting ready to mix up some "race gas" from Toulene and wanted to know how high of an octane that a MTM (or any 1 bar chip) chipped car would benefit from? I was going to shoot for 97-100 octane but I have no reason for these figures.
TIA!

Being under warranty, I would never chip my car, but I have a good friend who ran the old GIAC 1-bar chip. He found that anything much past 94 octane didn't buy him much. That was mixing 100 octane with 91 craptane, not with toluene, but the results should be comparable.
One thing, I can tell you is that toluene is hard to light off and may make your car stumble when cold. It definitely has that effect in my Cadillac 472 motor.
Heve fun. Just don't get any toluene on your skin or your car's paint.

It takes like 5 minutes a gallon plus it is expensive!
I thought that I would try the Toulene route to see how it worked.
