Default I doubt it. They probably just looked to see if it through a maf code. The maf can be failing and

cause those. I'm 99% sure it's the maf, unplug it and see if it runs better unplug it, trigger the CEL, then take your car in and get a free maf.

Default The car has been in the shop for over a week =( Thats the LAST thing i want to do. (more)

I have a VAG computer so i will monitor the fuel trim. If it escalates, i will have the MAF replaced.

Why is that the last thing you want to do? It requires very little time and/or effort.

Default Unplug the MAF sensor. This throws a code for the MAF (and CEL?).

Just to make sure it is the MAF, drive your car with the MAF sensor unplugged and see if the car is faster/runs better. If it does indeed feel better/faster, plug the MAF sensor back in and go to the stealership. The dealership will see the code and replace your MAF thinking it died. Many many many people have done this ;-)

Default I'm not sure how reimbursement works. Just take it in with a CEL and they should replace.

I'm not sure if there are instuctions on AW about plugging/unplugging the MAF sensor. None on here that I'm aware of. Maybe someone local to you can help you or something. I am the worst at explaining...sorry.
