Default What should I expect to pay for a low miles 2001 in Canada?

Looking at a couple of s4 with 18-20k km. Premium package, stereo upgrade. Dealer is asking $52K CDN. I know I will get them lower...the question is how much.
assume the cars are in near new condition.

Default Some answers... in Canadian dollars

I just talked to my dealer a few days ago. I have a 2001 that I was contemplating turning it in so I wanted to know the wholesale value. He said about $44-46 for a loaded low km 6 speed version. Then dealers then have to add the Audi Advantage warranty for a $1200 or $1500 (can't remember) dealer cost. Add $2-3k profit margin and you're looking at an initial sticker of $48 - $49 k. This is in Toronto so prices may be lower elsewhere in Canada

Default My experience

The S4 was very close to being traded in about 4 or 5 months ago. In this case the dealer offered us 45,000 CDN. With markups and the like I would assume he would sell it for around 50,000.

For referance the car was a silver 2001 sedan with a little over 10,000 km. Tip, Bose, Cold, Premium. No sport, phone or nav.

any regrets?

That is exactly what I can pick up...down to the color...extra snows but no rims. I'm just trying to figure out what the right offer is if they are asking 52k. I was thinking if I could get it for 48-49 I'd be in good shape. There must be some price pressure due to the body change???

Default More Answers

I got the car in Feb 2002 for $49K from Owasco Audi/VW with 6,400 km.

http://www.owasco.com/

It's got everything but the changer and nav. Talk to Jerry Villneuve if you give them a call. He's a straight shooter.

Also check out

www.globemegawheels.com (Globe & Mail car classifieds) and www.autotrader.ca. You may get lucky although I'd be inclined to buy from a dealer because you get the extra 2 years of warranty.

Price seems to be holding steady on the S4 due to lack of availability.

HAven't decided to get rid of mine yet but that may change if something catches my eye. I just wanted to know what my car was worth.
