Default What size spacers can one run without rubbing? (B6 S4 Avus wheels with 235/40/18 tires)

Turns out I do need spacers for the wheels to clear the calipers when new pads are in place (didn't need them with worn pads). I bought a set of really nice used MTM 15mm ones (thanks LI-S4). They are definitely top quality, but there is some rubbing now when the car goes over bumps. To be honest, I figured there might be, but when I realized the wheels wouldn't fit I was in a pinch and figured I'd just get the first ones I could find at a fair price (and within quick shipping distance).

Anyway, I'm thinking about going with the H&R 8mm ones from PureMS (with the mounting lip). Will these still rub? If so, I'll probably just keep the 15's and have my local shop roll the fenders. If not, then I'd kinda perfer not to do the whole fender rolling thing, and I'll just pick up the H&R's and re-sell the MTM's.

What do you guys think?

5mm is enough.

Default i'm using 25mm spacers and have no rubbing . . .

but i have "modified" fenders . . . ;-)

seriously, the spacers you can run will depend on wheel width/offset as well as the tires you have on them.

i'd go with the thinnest that can clear the calipers, just to be safe.

Default Only thing is that, from what I've read, hubcentric spacers are only availble over 8mm...

and only the 8mm ones have the mounting lip (a feature I find pretty handy).

Default at 5mm or less, there is still enough hub to hang the wheel on (usually)...

...so you don't really need a hubcentric spacer.

ben.....i think that depending on your offset, 10-15mm is perfect imo.
