great info, and "better" depends on tire compound
My 235/40-18 AVS tires had much better traction than the 225/45-17 potenzas on my stock wheels. My current 225/40-18 R compound dunlop ssr's have much more traction than the AVS's.
I might try 255/35-18 michelins the next time. If I could get more of the same dunlops I would.

I like the 255's as they don't look as stretched as some tires on 8.5" rims
