I take it these are all non-R compound tires. Did you get any feel for what's out there for purely dry weather R compound street tires (DOT approved almost-slicks) like the BFG G-Force TA R1A used to be? I'll soon need some for my track wheels. In the rain I'll just use my OEM pilot sports. They're almost gone anyway from Seat Time @ Summit when it was supposed to rain and didn't until the last session.

Speaking of Seat Time, I was talking with one of the guys in my firm (who also has an S4) and he was saying that he was on the track last week and there was a silver S4 wagon that he just couldn't keep up with you though the corners. As soon as he said those words, I knew it must have been you. :-) He did say that he did get a good line by watching you.
Wait until I tell him you weren't running the R compounds. ;-) He was the guy in the silver sedan, said he talked to you and Reggie for a bit.

and I'm signed up for another in August. I'll probably sign up for one or two more before the end of the year and with the Quattro Club event in October that will give me 5 days at Summit. My goal is to be certified for seat time by the end of this year (don't know if that will happen, but I'm going to try).

But I think you'd get stepped treads with any tire when you're driving at/near the limit, the more so the deeper the tread.

I'll find out. I'm hoping that since the T1-S seemed to survive the SCCA Speedvision GT and Touring class races, it'll hold up in my more modest track sessions.
Thanks,
