What type of gains from porting and clearancing the Ko4 turbo on stg 3?

Some seem to have seen a nice bump in airflow up top after clearancin the hot side of the turbo.
Clearancing is done to the exhaust housing aka "hot side" and consists of increasing the gap between the exhaust wheel and the housing.
Stolen from a post by Jacob Buehn, who used to be a big contributor here and built, rebuilt, and modified turbos for folks including myself:
"Clearancing is one way to allow excess exhaust gas to bypass going through the turbine wheel and lower backed up pressure in the turbine housing."
