Default very little jsut buy rs6ss i have a set come pick them up iam local lol but honestly the rs4 hot sid

side is too restrictive

Default You will see some gains with a hybrid, but yea, Mental nailed it. The hotside of a k04 is the

limiting factor.

Theres no cost effective way to modify the PJK04S plus the hot side is way to so. Just step up to something larger..

Default Yeah, I was just wondering. I already have ko4's on there, now way Im taking them off for a little

gain.

But what is clearancing?

Default I'm not sure it's worth the trouble. Only do it if you have a very trustworthy shop doing the work..

Some seem to have seen a nice bump in airflow up top after clearancin the hot side of the turbo.

Clearancing is done to the exhaust housing aka "hot side" and consists of increasing the gap between the exhaust wheel and the housing.

Stolen from a post by Jacob Buehn, who used to be a big contributor here and built, rebuilt, and modified turbos for folks including myself:

"Clearancing is one way to allow excess exhaust gas to bypass going through the turbine wheel and lower backed up pressure in the turbine housing."
