Default what would a good body shop charge for fixing paint chips?

i put my front end under a huge halogen light and found close to a thousand paint chips ranging from little specks to 1 milimeter in diameter. Thanks in advance

Default Sounds like mine.... But is it really worth it?

It's just gonna get dinged up again, and with a good wax you can hide all those little nicks.

Default I have a black S4 (DOH!!) and there are some chips that are BAD.....

You can see little white spots on my black hood. But I live on 1 mile of dirt road, so I know that $400 would just be a waste.

Default Go see JR at Interpro (176 and 41 on the North Bound enterance road past McCormicks)

He will tell you if it's worth it and can get it done in quality and quickly.

If you just want the bumper cover done, it'll be under 400. If you want the bumper cover plus hood, maybe JR will do it for $400, but probably closer to $500.

They do great work. Trust me.

Default Same problem here. What I struggle with is wether it's better to live with the chips

or risk having paint that doesn't match or fades at a different rate over time. I guess another concern is wether the new paint will be any better(harder) or if I'll have the same chips in a few months. Any comments here? Would the new paint resist chips better?

Default Get it repainted and put on a clear bra....

The newer the factory paint, the more likely you'll be to get a good paint match. Bumpers are easy to match, and because of the hard angles (relative to the adjacent body panel) they don't usually show minor paint color differences as bad as say, a hood and a fender would.

Clear bra on the bumpers is the only effective way to prevent paint from chipping in the future. I also added it to my rocker panels for the same reason, and they still look like new with 12k miles. Even in the nasty Colorado winters, where they distribute lava rocks all over the road to enhance traction..
