Default What would happen if someone just swapped K04s for K03s on a stock S4, and nothing else. --->

Is there enough control range in the ECU's wastegate control to work the Wastegate until the requested boost is reached, or is the control open loop? Certainly, spool up would be slower, but the K04s would be stressed much less and would outlast the K03s.

What would happen if this were done on a chipped car?

Of course, to benefit from the full potential of the K04s, all the other trimmings are desirable, but would the engine protest without them?

Default not sure - seems like fuel would be an issue - running rich or not? it seems

like your always fighting to keep the car running right - then again - i spent the day trying to locate a boost leak

I believe Nick Gustas had only cat-back exhaust when he swapped in K04's and ran fine.

With just K04s and inlet pipes, the car would run fine, albeit about the same as a stock S4.

In higher rpm, my butt dyno said k04's were faster.

Could be slightly faster. Definitely slower than a chipped K03 S4 though.

There's really no reason that a K04s on an otherwise stock car wouldn't run correctly.
