my show around 225-250 on the hot day. is this normal

Yep, sounds fine to me. 225-250 is the range I like it in.

Yep. 230°F is my normal operating temp, pretty much regardless of ambient.

I tend to run 205-215 around town and on highways.

my old A4 only runn at 175-200,, I saw about 225-250 on my S4,, this scare me

These puppies run hot and somewhere in or over the 2 fitty range, you'll may notice some 'lag' or lack of horsies... this is when I back off big time and if I can pull over, leave the engine running and pop the hood. I've only had to do this when rompin' hard through the canyons on a hot day.

After my seventh 30 minute track session of the day at 90 degrees I only hit 260.
