Well, imo, the fastest way to drop it at the track is to keep lapping, but shortshift and don't go full bore down the biggest straight. I had the coolant and oil temp back to normal in just a little over a lap. Plus it really didn't add much time to the lap. Just concentrate on using less brakes and maintaining your speed. It's a good excersize anyways.

Default 225 in "normal" driving, 250 in sprited. Saw 300 once...

But as soon as I ended my session, it was back to 250 within a minute or two. Took almost a half hour to cool back to 225 though.

I try not to shut the car off above 225...

Default I do agree. By the time it hit that mark, it was 2 laps before the end of session.

This was a very unusual case; the ambient temps were extremely high, and god knows what the track temps were.
