Default Higher color temp will increase the contrast, but decrease the light output...

So. The 5300K bulbs will have a higher luminous output sir.

Default All the information you need is here...

...first off, interesting you mention it as the Osram 5,300K because it's listed as the Osram 5,400K even though it's actually 5,300K...marketing? :-)

Anyway:

@35 wattss
Philips Ultinon 6,000K: ~2,200 lumens
Osram Xenarch 5,400K: ~2,600 lumens

@50watts the Osram Xenarc 5,400K is noticeably brighter but the Ultinon does emit a nicer, "cooler" color.

If you want MAX light on the road, get the Philips 4,100K bulbs.

I wonder what is the best compromise between contrast and light output?

Default I really like my 5,400 bulbs...but Dan prefers a higher contrast/higher temperature bulb.

Default Please re-read above...max light = brightest, so Philips 4,100K. If money is no object...

...this is the brightest:

-SPP Stage 3 HID Kit with 50 watt ballast
-Philips 4,100K D2S HID Bulbs
-Porsche Bi-Xenon projectors
-E-Code housings

-Send Audimods/Agravic everything and have him custom install the Porsche Bi-Xenon projectors into your E-Codes. Very expensive!

You will then have the brightest lights in the land. A slightly less expensive alternative would be to go with the Honda S2000 projectors retrofitted into the E-Codes.

Then go with the Osram 5,400K but some people still think it's still a bit yellow.

Actually, SIR, I'm running the Philips 4,100K right now, they are bright, but a tad bit yellow. :-)
