Whats brighter? Phillips 6000 or Osram 5300 with 50w ballasts? Now I am not talking about which is a

does the bi-xenon work with the hi-beams or just superior optics for low?

Both. Porsche Bi-Xenons operate like an H4 bulb. When you depress the high beam, a shield opens...
...up and allows the light to reflect off other parts of the projector to give you the brightest lighting.
With 50 watt and Porsche Bi-Xenons, your high beams would be ridiculously bright. :-P

The 80watt bulbs for the highbeam will not be brighter than the Bi-Xenons at 50 watt. BUT...
...it's a much less expensive alternative.
That's what I would do because modding the Porsche Bi-Xenon projectors into your S4 housings will probably cost $500 alone. Purchasing the Porsche projectors will cost $3,500+, unless you can get them without the housings.
I would go E-Codes, Stage 3 with Philips 4,100K with SPP 80 watt Rally H7 High Beam bulbs. Or you could get a retro fit H7 HID kit for the high beams and that would be extremely bright.

so why are you a 4100k guy now? i thought you liked the higher color temp of stg 3 +5400k?

Do I like the higher color temperatures, ideally 8,000K. :-) But...
...I switched to the Philips 4,100K for a month just to see the difference and the color is easier on the eyes, easier to see, especially on dark pavement (which I usually drive on) than 6,000K-12,000K because it's not as blue-purple.
The only drawback is the output when compared to other HIDs, the look a bit yellow.
I still think ideally, 5,400K is the best. I need to get another set of those. :-)
