Default I have a 2 hole Injector right here, just trying to get time to flow it.. no bench so need to take

car apart.

But rumor has it that it may be just the ticket.

Default Nope, not for a multivalve intake. idled wierd unless the engine was hot.

once the engine was hot it was nice, that injector has very good idle characteristics, but the pattern is wrong.

Default have you ever tried or heard of anyone with Siemens injectors?

supposidly (according to my etka) they are the make of the original S4 units and I found a bunch or higher flowing replacements online. they even make a shorty style like the RS4 unit.

Default is it easy to find dimensional specs on injectors to determine if they will fit?

Even if they are a little taller, that makes it easier to just raise the fuel rail like with greentops

Default I don't have the dimesnions for the stock ones, I though about pulling one out to measure it, but

haven't had the time.... here is the info on the Higher flowing Siemens units. also, is there a limit as to what is too much flow? these are 55 @ 3 bar (43.5 psi). would taht just be way too much fuel moving in there or will the computer back it off? I've heard both sides on this (shiv from Vishnu says that up to 70 lb injectors can be used on a WRX and that the system just auto adjusts) many other posts I've read say otherwise....

Siemens PN 3172 High Impedence 55lb:

Part # 3172 (This injector has the same calibration as the Siemens 3102 (55) but with a 12 ohm coil)
Static Flow Rate: 57 lb/hr @ 43.5PSI (300kPa) = 599cc/min
Coil Resistance: 12 Ohms / High Impedance / High-Z (No ECM driver modifications required)
The Siemens '3172' is able to operate at a higher pressure and duty cycle than most other high-Z injectors.

Siemens / Mototron Deka 4 S107

Mototron Part # INJGAS00200 (aka S107)
Static Flow Rate @ 43.5 PSI (300kPa): 60.0 lb/hr = 630 cc/min
Static Flow Rate @ 58.0 PSI (400kPa): 69.3 lb/hr = 727 cc/min
Coil Resistance: 12.5 Ohms / High Impedance / High-Z (No ECM driver modifications required)
Gain: 0.11ms/mg, Offset: 0.055ms, Turn on time: 1.14ms @ 14VDC, Turn off time: 0.85ms @ 600KPa
Wide angle spray pattern

this injectors look very interesting as well.... it is a shorty style (ala RS4) and according to the website I snagged the dimesions from, it has a wide fan pattern (also similar to the RS4) best part is they are $50 a piece. 60 lb/hr , high impedance.

Default heres an interesting site... it not only lists the dimensions but spray patterns as well...

http://www.racetronix.com/

for example, the Delphi 37 and 42 lb (prob one of them is what you used) is listed as having an difffent type of spray pattern than anything else:

Top feed disc injectors use a small disc with six holes around its circumference. The disc rests on a short chimney that surrounds a metering hole. As the disc is raised off the chimney by magnetic force, fuel flows through the holes in the disc, over the walls of the chimney, and out the metering hole to form a full, finely atomized cone.

Performance advantages over pintle injectors (i.e. Ford / Bosch & Accel types) as listed by Delphi:
* The flat mating surface ensures that no excess fuel is present to evaporate and therefore, no deposits or clogging can occur.
* Compatible with alternative fuels (i.e. Methanol)
* Longer service life
* High-speed disc action allows wider dynamic flow range for improved idling
* Quieter operation
* Revolutionary disc design resists build up deposits which can affect fuel flow.
* No Fuel leakage for quicker starts

the delphi 44 lb is listed as having Ball/Seat Design with 3-Hole Diffuser Disc - Pencil stream

but when you go to the 50lb unit, you get a fan pattern similar to the RS4. Cone Spray Angle - 22.4 degrees - single spray cone. Approximate cone angle for 90% of spray volume
