I've found mineral spirits cuts the adhesive pretty well.

Hands down, that's the best way. Might want to put some wax there when done.

Default be careful with goo gone & goof off type products....

Me and my bro accidentally splatter painted the side of this lady's van while painting the 3rd story of her house, so we tried using some goof off / goo gone? on the spots.. we got the house paint off but it kinda dulled the spots that we had to scrub for more than a second or so. Basically, it likes to eat paint

Default someone told me that you can flick a cigarette into a puddle of gasoline and it won't ignite..

now if it were in a container then it might because of the fumes incased in the container...I wonder if thats true...just never had the ***** to test it out.
