I have OZ SL 18x8 rims...so I would need to upgrade and would any of the Hoosier's fit? The side wall seems to high at 40 or is that some funky @ss rating that is really a 35 for them (Hoosier)???
Maybe I will use my CH's as track rims, even though they are heavier they are 8.5 so I should be able to fit a little wider tire on there.

My fenders are rolled..the tires are worn..and it doesn't rub inside or outside. New tires..and I think I WOULD rub.

Why not ditch those 18X8 OZ SL's and go with a 9 inch wide wheel? You shouldn't really even run the 245 hoosier on those 8" wide wheels. I've talked to Anthony at Hoosier Tire West (in Fresno) about this and he's pretty clear that they don't recommend anyone run their 245 tires on anything less than a 8.5" wheel.
I'll hit you back on e-mail too.

I think that should help my rear upright clearance, as well. Front is now at about -1deg camber and 0 toe. Probably change that to -2 - -2.5 camber and 0 toe.

If that was on 245/40's, it's equivalent to 25.125F/25.25R on 225/45-17's. Also, won't more negative camber put you too close to the suspension upright with those tall tires?
