Default I've gone over this a couple times before..........

there was a problem with a batch of bearings that I had back earlier this year that caused some failures. That problem has since been resolved with a new bearing design and all turbos that had not been installed yet when the problem was recogonized were retrofitted with the updated bearings. Since switching to the new design we have not seen anymore problems.

Numbers wise there are well over 80 sets of hybrids out there and outside of the bearing problem, I've seen maybe 2 or 3 sets if that come back due to build issues.

Default and the key thing to remember is that you have taken care of those with issues

thats alot more than can be said about other, so called parts makers who have left people out to dry when stuff breaks

Default Whatever, You tell me why we don't hear as much 'Good' things about them? I Rave about my Garret

So I'm a user and a basher.. Sue me... I Rave about my Garret Hybrid on my DSM all the time. If my Big28 fails or had failed on me I would have torn into Forced Performance the same way. http://www.forcedperformance.com. Now that Vendor knows how to develope a hybrid.

When people are happy with a product it show's I can't help it if people don't testify to anything good happening with their Hybrids. Potentialy having $1000s in additional labor costs and hours upon hours of repeat labor when a faliure happens = Valid concerns about the product.

IMO they are only doing what they were designed to do becuase you got it right the 2nd time. When they are done right I beleive its a viable product. I don't think enough development and testing has been done.. Or I certainly don't see any evidence of that.. My biggest beef ia a lack of information, technical and otherwise about the development of the hybrid turbos.

http://www.forcedperformance.com</a

Default You're avoiding the question. How many total failures out of the 80 you've produced.

I realize that there was a bearing problem, and I'm glad it's no longer a problem. However, that is still relevant information. How many failures, bearing or otherwise?

Default Then I (and others) will just assume that the number is high, and that overall...

the hybrid solution he offers is historically unreliable. Maybe once he has a few years on the updated turbos my opinion will change, but I'll just assume the worst for now unless I get some hard data.
