Whats left to tighten steering back to stock/new?

I plan to keep my 2000 S4 for a long time to come, and want to get the steering back to the new/tight feel. 105k miles.
I've recently done a full suspension replacement (febi) with Lemforder TRE's, new bearings, and coilovers. Followed by a good alignment.
My steering is still a bit numb in the center position, particularly at speed. While not bad, its definitly not as tight as when new. What else can I do to fix the problem? Steering Rack? Inner tie rods?
Has anyone else been able to return their steering to "new"?
