Wheel/Brake question...
Can anyone explain this please. The car is in to get some new pads and rotors for the fronts and upon completion the wheels are now rubbing on the caliper. The pads and rotor are all OEM parts. Any thoughts/help would be great. TIA

With a floating caliper.....
The outside half of the caliper moves in and out to compensate for pad thickness. As your pads wear, the outside half slowly moves "into" the car. I imagine this is true to a lesser extent for disc wear as well. So new thicker pads (and rotors) will drive the outer half of the caliper away from the car (and into your wheels). I am sure someone will give a more technical answer.

Floating calipers float.
The calipers position is dependent on the pads and rotor. Are the new rotors/pads the exact same as the old ones (when the old ones were new)? Are you using the original/stock wheels?

See post from yesterday.
Same problem. I just ordered some spacers (5mm). I', guessing that will work.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1578286.phtml">Wheel problems</a></li></ul>

Yes. I doubt you would need more than an extra 5 mm since they cleared before. but....
check before buying. If you have 5mm now, try doubling up on one side with the car on jack stands (do NOT drive like this--it is only for testing clearance). If there is good clearance, then you know what size to order. Don't forget longer bolts. Sorry, but you are looking at at least $100 for spacers and bolts.
