silver '02 s4

I want to paint my stock wheels a darker shade of silver (almost gray) and they also have a few scuffs on them. I was wondering if it is worth it to send them to a place or should I just DIY. If get it professionally done, does anyone know of a good place close to Danbury, CT area?
