i know its a noob question, ive staf and no write ups specify. im thinking "off" but this question came up cos i have esp, which could possibly require a vag.
i broke the the fore brake pad bracket on front left caliper. new one on the way,so i figure i might as well do a bleed all the way around.
note to diy'rs: when installing front pads, make sure they are seated right and piston pushed(pump the brake) out to firm things up BEFORE you put the wheel back on.
thanks in advance for your help.

when bleeding I will swap between opening the bleeder a LOT and having large flow of fluid each pump, and also a LITTLE and having the person pumping having to work extra hard to get fluid out. Not sure if either is better, but like I said I've never had complaints. I doubt theres a lot of space for air to get trapped, anyway...

and it was easy, if you are pumping the breaks go down about 90% of the way... but don't let the master clyender go dry, keep it up there, that is how i ahve allways do it. also keep the ignittion off.

I'd be very interested in a bleeding procedure for this car. Does one exist? I don't have ESP. If there isn't one out there, I'll try to document it and do a write up that others can comment on.

2nd : drivers side rear, 3rd pass front, then drivers front. If you aren't using a power bleeder you need to be careful not to let the brake fluid go too low bec that will damage the master cylinder. You need tor replace the fluid as you go. Need to bleed around 200 cc's per corner and ideally the slave cylinder above the tranny. About 100 cc's there iirc. W ESP you need to cycle the ABS too. 11 mm wrench for the bleeding screw, a small piece of tubing to go onto the nipple and a bottle to collect the fluid helps too. Hope that helps.

Your feedback gave me the confidence to dig in and do my first DIY brake line job.
With the RIGHT tools, and a calm head any job on our cars is possible.
Im also finding that when i run into rank situations with my car AW'rs are the only ones who seem to care. I love this community!
