Default When do you replace rotors as compared to just brake pads?

I've got like 85K on original rotors, and I think its time to replace the pads, but how should I know to do the rotors as well? what's the "tell-tale" signs?

Default ^^^ lame answer

rotors need to be replaced when they wear out. STFA and you'll find the thickness / wear limit specs. but by 85k, you're most def due for new rotors.

Default the rotors are inscribed with their wear limit, as a function of their thickness.

at 85k you're probably due for new rotors. with new rotors you should always replace the pads.

It's humor, but not that far from the truth.

Thanx. That's what I'm thinking, in addition to the small squeak I hear now at 5mph.

Agreed. Rotors don't last much longer than a good set of pads.

Default The dealer has replaced all 4 rotors on my car twice already and I'm at 40K miles...

I think they need to be changed again very soon. I think my problem is too much hot to cold, warping the rotors. We had a big rainy season in California this year and I have very thin spoked/open wheels...water easily got on the rotors constantly.
