Is whistling when flooring the S4 a little normal? (at a test drive)

Default Is whistling when flooring the S4 a little normal? (at a test drive)

I have no experiance with turbo, so is that normal? I test drove it and heared a little whistling sound...
I had an earlier post about a 2K1 S4 with 17K miles....

Default Yes.

It should be something like the sound you hear from turbo'd 18-wheelers. You can play it: pitch changes with throttle position. My car makes more noise till it's warmed up.

A little high-pitched whistling is normal. Loud screeching or a tea-kettle sound is not.

Default I cant say it is loud, but I can hear it well. Can the 90+ degrees have anything to do with it? is..

is it waste-gas or waste-air? or do i not know what i am talking about ??

was the car warmed up...turbos whine more when the engine is cold...

not waste. when you press throttle, you're hearing the turbos spooling up

Default It's the number of turbine blades X the turbo RPM

that produces the audible whistle. As the blades pass the housing exit, they "thwap" the gas. It goes above the range of human hearing at higher RPMs.
