If I had said 'inferior in some ways' then your comment might have some merit. But the BFG's have as good or better treadwear and better wet and dry performance, therefore the S03's are inferior in every way that matters for a performance tire. And if you're going to pay $200 for a performance tire you might as well buy the better tire.

$100 more per corner. The S-03 isn't a $200 performance tire, it's a $170 performance tire. The KDW isn't a $200 performace tire, it's a $250 performance tire...that's a big difference. Is that extra bit of grip worth it? Save the $320, do a driver's school, and you'll probably be able to run rings around the guy with the KDWs. The KDW's certainly aren't 32% better than the S-03's, yet they cost that much more.

But then they're only $163 a piece in 225/40-18 from tirerack, so being the better and cheaper tire it's pretty much a no brainer.
The KD is the $250 tire. It's a dry only tire with incredible grip, but even at regular retail prices is a good 40 bucks more expensive than a KDW.

as opposed to the S03's. They're great, not as good as the S03's on the track but I commute a lot. No tramlining, cheap and much better than the stock tires.
