Default Who else has had an H&R coilover shock blow out?

Got the car corner weighted and there was oil everywhere on the passenger side rear shock. There are less than 15K miles on this set. The set I had on my old A4 were traded in in good condition with 45K miles on them. What gives?

Default <raises hand>

H&R had some quality control issues with their rear shocks a while back. Mine got all oily almost right out of the box.

I bought them from AWE, and Todd shipped me out a replacement rear damper promptly.

Default That sucks man...

Sorry to hear it Dave!
I guess the setup you got really wasn't up to good standards. I wonder what gives?
I got my setup from AWE, and once installed, it has not given me any problems at all, but I feel for you man!

Default I had both rears blown out on the same week.

They sent me replacements without problems, but I still have to do the work.

Default One of my fronts blew

It was't leaking oil, but the shock developed a light clunnk that I can only attribute to a failure in the internal valving... a replacement fixed it... keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again.
