I need to know how you mounted your radar detector above your steering wheel? where did you run the wires? Thanks for any help.

you can ask him...but I believe you just pop the plastic piece off that it sits on, and run the wire under it, then stuff it under the wood trim and over to the fuse box.

I didn't remove any panels to run the wire. I did a goofy thing with the back of the remote display (hard to explain, but I'll be happy to show you at the Dr. John's tech session in December), then tucked the wire behind that plastic collar piece, around the steering column, then between the aluminum trim piece and the leg basher panel. I just used a very small screwdriver and shoved the wire in there. I probably sliced up the wire that way, and I'm sure you could remove the trim piece for easier access, but then you'd have to remove it again to uninstall if you ever wanted to.
The hardest part was figuring out how to manipulate the wire on the back of the remote display so that it didn't push the remote display out of position or stick out like a sore thumb.
