you obviously never witnessed an accident at the drag strips. Almost every other night there is one incident where a car almost lost control down at the drag strip.
When someone dies at the street races, its usually caused by ignorance. Go down to So. Cal and ask all the adult racers who still street race. They will tell you how its really done. When racing in the streets there are guidlines to follow just like at the drag strip, just respect it, learn it, and dont forget it and you'll have a fun time.
The one thing tragic about this story is that young inexperienced kids are giving street racing a bad name.
Street racing is safe, as long as you are responsible enough to take precautions. There is a time and place for everything, you just have to know your limits.

All the race I participate in, the bystanders are standing at the starting line. That eliminates your foundation of an argument :-]
I do agree with the majority of the illegal street races. Some of the street races i've watched is very dangerous. They have morons pouring out in the streets watching the cars drive by. If one of the cars was to loose control at least 10 people would get seriously hurt. Thats ignorance for ya...

Not many street cars run in the 11's or faster...for them the dragstrip is pretty safe; most of these street racers are probably killed in cars that run in the 14's to 16's.

I said on the racetrack you have MUCH less of a chance to injure someone not involved in the race. In a street race, anyone who happens to be on the same road as your stupid *** runs the chance of being injured or killed by your blatant stupidity.
